Duc d'O is a premium brand of Belgian chocolates and Husky Foods is it's exlusive Canadian distributor. Husky Foods had recently lost the listing for Duc d'O at Costco Canada.
The Duc d'O packaging needed to be updated to command attention in a warehouse shopping environment. The research showed that the target market of women aged 25 to 45 shopped at Costco for products of high perceived value at affordable prices. The bottom line was Duc d'O's packaging was not effectively communicating the brand's luxury status.
Refresh the packaging for the Duc d'O mini-pralines and truffles to provide a compelling luxury statement to Costco shoppers. Cyclone created three high quality production mock ups of the new packaging concepts for Husky Foods to present to Costco's buying team.
Costco was so impressed with the new packaging concepts and the potential for the brand that they renewed Duc d'O's Canadian listing. They chose one concept for the North American market and a second one for use in the Far East.
