Integrated Brand Marketing and Promotion

The presentation technologies division of Sanyo Canada did not have an online presence. A communication mechanism was needed to support their dealer network. Cyclone designed and developed a website which enabled Sanyo to quickly update product information, while providing marketing communications to support the dealer channel. The site www.getthebigpicture.ca includes our e-catalogue engine, our email engine and our rewards and incentives engine. The site continues to communicate timely product information to the dealer network while our rewards and incentives program has helped increase sales by 22%.

Client

Sanyo Canada Presentation Technologies is part of Sanyo Electric Company, a global leader in consumer and commercial electronics, bio-medical equipment and battery technologies.

Discovery

The Presentation Technologies arm of Sanyo Canada markets LCD projectors, monitors and digital signage for commercial applications. Moreover, the Canadian operation was reliant on the larger U.S. sales organization for advertising and marketing materials and programs. We discovered the company had no dealer-facing website in Canada to supply market-specific product information, and no facility for online support of dealer sales and incentive programs.

Strategy

Cyclone Creative identified the need for a Canadian-market-specific micro-website to enable Sanyo Canada to quickly and easily update content for Canadian dealers.

The micro-site also needed to be a conduit for dealer newsletter programs, email campaigns and contests, with the ability to measure results.

Outcome

Cyclone Creative developed and launched www.getthebigpicture.ca. Sanyo Canada can now batch-upload new content in real time into the site's e-catalogue application. The site also features a Cyclone-designed "ENLIGHT" quarterly dealer newsletter. We developed a secure log-in area that provides access to select, dealer-specific product and pricing information. As part of the microsite launch - and to activate maximum dealer participation - Cyclone Creative developed a turn-key incentive program called "Sky's the Limit" which helped drive presentation technology sales by 22% at the dealer level.
